The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist is a faith-filled community rooted in the love of Christ and committed to serving the people of Orlando and beyond. We are a congregation that values worship, fellowship, and service, living out our call to love God and our neighbors through prayer, compassion, and action.

Our Story

​

Founded on April 18, 1896, St. John the Baptist is one of the oldest congregations in the Diocese of Central Florida. From our beginnings in downtown Orlando to our home in the Washington Shores neighborhood, our church has stood as a beacon of faith, justice, and community leadership. Guided for decades by the legacy of The Rev. Canon Nelson W. Pinder and other faithful clergy, we continue to honor our past while embracing new opportunities to share Christ’s love in a changing world.
