As we celebrate this sacred milestone, we honor the saints who built this house and recommit ourselves to the work God is still doing among us. From worship to outreach, education to fellowship, our anniversary year reflects a living legacy of love, justice, and compassionate service.

130th Anniversary Prayer Breakfast
Saturday, April 18th
Held on the founding date of our parish, the Anniversary Prayer Breakfast will mark a prayerful beginning to our anniversary celebration. We are honored to welcome Dr. LaVon Wright Bracy, advocate for civil rights and education and co-founder of New Covenant Baptist Church, as our keynote speaker. Her life’s work embodies the courage, faith, and commitment to justice we celebrate during this milestone year. This gathering invites the church family and community to come together in prayer, fellowship, and shared purpose as we give thanks for God’s faithfulness and seek God’s guidance for the future.
130th Anniversary Homecoming Service
Sunday, April 19th
The 130th Anniversary Homecoming Service will be a joyful worship celebration as we gather to honor our past and look forward to the future God is calling us to embrace. We are honored to welcome the Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III, Senior Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, as our guest preacher. A visionary leader and renowned preacher and teacher, Dr. Moss brings a prophetic voice and deep commitment to faith, justice, and transformative ministry. His presence will help us launch the next phase of our parish’s life as we continue our journey renewed by the Spirit and rooted in faith.
130TH ANNIVERSARY RENEWAL FUND
As we celebrate 130 years of faithfulness, The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist looks ahead with hope and renewed purpose. The Renewal Fund supports essential building improvements, strengthens our ministries, and helps ensure the long-term sustainability of our parish.
Rooted in gratitude for the past and trust in God’s promise for the future, this fund is an invitation to invest in the next chapter of our sacred story. Every gift, large or small, helps preserve this holy space and extend our witness in the community.
As we are renewed by the Spirit and rooted in faith, we invite all who love St. John the Baptist to prayerfully consider contributing to the Renewal Fund.
